Meet the Team

Jo is a 10 years qualified solicitor, specialising in corporate and company law. She has spent 12 years in a regional firm in the East Midlands undertaking acquisition work, company restructuring, and shareholder agreements. She also deals with corporate governance, and Companies Act matters.

Jo’s loyal base of clients who instruct her because they trust her to get the deal done in a sensible and pragmatic fashion, whilst still ensuring that her clients are adequately protected. Jo takes time to explain the process, outline the risks, and enable her clients to make an informed decision. She is particularly noted for working in a collaborative way with other lawyers, to find solutions to matters that arise, and ensure transactions complete as quickly as possible.

Good relationships with other professionals is key, and Jo regularly receives recommendations from accountants, bank relationship managers, selling agents and other solicitors. Jo often acts for other solicitor’s practices who do not have their own corporate departments.

Jo has a reputation for health and social care work – acquisitions of care homes and day nurseries in particular. She understands the processes and the legislation in place surrounding acquisitions in this sector. Many of her clients are care home or nursing home operators, and this client base has grown almost exclusively through word of mouth recommendations.

She also has experience in dealing with manufacturing and engineering companies and service and maintenance providers – industries typical of the East midlands locality.

Born and bred in Sheffield, Jo is straight talking and no nonsense, often quoted as being the most down to earth corporate lawyer there is. She lives on the outskirts of Sheffield with her twin boys Jack and Harry.

Jean is a paralegal, assisting on corporate transactions and undertaking corporate governance work. She has worked for a number of well known and well respected law firms in the local area and has a wealth of experience.

Jean often assists Jo Dawson on larger corporate transactions, but also undertakes work in her own right. Jean deals directly with our clients who instruct us to deal with company incorporations, officer appointments, and other Companies House registration services. She also assists our Commercial Property department, dealing with property searches and Land Registry registrations.

Jean has spent time travelling and working in Australia, New Zealand and the USA, including Las Vegas Strip. She is now married and has two young boys.

Joe is a consultant solicitor specialising in property law.

Training at a high street law firm in Wiltshire, Joe then moved to the North East where he has worked for some of the largest firms in the area.

Joe has acted for clients ranging from individuals and SME’s to NHS Foundation Trusts and large Plc’s.

Joe’s detailed knowledge and understanding of property law is balanced with his commercial and pragmatic approach. This helps to ensure that his clients are not just informed of legal problems, but also commercial and practical solutions.

In his spare time, Joe is a keen sportsman. He enjoys playing football, golf, tennis and snooker.

As Executive Assistant to the Managing Director, Sadie is tasked with supporting Jo. Sadie manages Jo’s diary, appointments, travel arrangements, emails and telephone enquiries and general confidential tasks on Jo’s behalf. Sadie also helps within the accounts department and assists the other fee earners in the team. 

When not running around after her three children at home, Sadie enjoys spending time with friends, organising get togethers and weekends away.

As Accounts & Office Manager, Jill has the day to day responsibility of handling client funds and dealing with the various transactions that happen each day alongside ensuring everything runs as it should on a day to day basis in the office.

Jill ensures that the sale and purchase money is sent efficiently so we can all complete on time, pays bills, generates and pays invoices and handles our bank accounts.

Outside of work Jill enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends and walking and going out on a run.

Amad is a solicitor in our corporate department, acting for clients on business sales and purchases, company law matters and corporate governance. He works collaboratively with our other solicitors on large acquisitions, and also manages his own clients.

Amad is a photography enthusiast and budding property developer. Due to his previous interactions with other CLO’s he is also currently working on building a stronger working relationship with our lovable Client Liaison Officer Billy….we are sure they will be best friends in no time!

Diane provides essential administrative and secretarial support to our fee earners in the day to day running of their case loads and liaises with clients to keep them updated with the progression of their matters.

Outside work Diane enjoys cooking, baking and socialising with family and friends. She is also known as the local “fairy dog mother” and loves looking after friends’ dogs!

As Legal Assistant, Holly provides support to our fee earners including; conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing documents and communicating with clients.

In her free time, Holly enjoys exploring the Peak District with her three dogs and supporting her home team Sheffield United.

Louise is an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor who completed her training in 2007 at a firm of solicitors based in Staffordshire.  Louise then moved further north to be closer to family and was previously head of Commercial Property and Partner at a regionally based firm,  before joining Dawson Radford as a Director and Commercial Property Solicitor in March 2024.

Louise’s business-like approach focuses on offering pragmatic and commercial advice in an efficient and timely manner.  Louise specialises in all aspects of commercial property including acquisitions and disposals, re-financing and Landlord and Tenant matters.

Louise is a keen runner and enjoys spending her spare time with her friends and family.

Over the past 20 years, Franco has worked across a number of sectors, supporting and advising a variety of companies across multiple industries. From the likes of retail to hospitality, manufacturing, consultancy, education, technology, charity and wealth management.

After degree in HR management at Lincoln Uni, Emily has gone on to have a varied employment history from the Police Service, Centre Parcs and several manufacturing sites.

Keen to support smaller businesses Emily moved to consultancy to be able to make no fuss, supportive HR services available to all.

Outside of work Emily is kept busy with a young family and keen to enjoy the finer things in life with holidays, mini breaks and evenings out.

As Client Liaison Officer, Billy is tasked with welcoming guests into the office and maintaining our good relationships with clients during and after transactions.
In his spare time Billy enjoys yoga – he is an expert at the ‘downward dog’ – and open water swimming
